After an early morning pickup, we depart for Garden Route Game Lodge, via the N1 towards the Eastern Cape and the Garden Route. We stop at the historical majestic town of Swellendam, where we will take a tour and enjoy a relaxing lunch. Proceeding onwards to the Garden
Route Game Lodge. Check-in is at 3pm. We leave on our first game drive at 17h00 on 4 x 4 safari vehicles. Now on the look out for a large variety of game, one shall see the white rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, black wildebeeste, waterbuck, mountain zebra, bontebok, bushbuck, impala, red hartebeeste, springbok, gemsbok, and many other species including a variety of bird species and wetland birds.

Besides the large variety of fynbos and other plant species and the increasing amount of game on the land, the Garden Route Game Lodge also provides a home for many permanent and migratory bird species which are best viewed on foot and identifiable by the game rangers.

The exclusive luxury accommodation is designed to offer guests complete comfort and relaxation, in its beautiful settings, which have been decorated in a blend of colonial African and modern western, all linked together by a boardwalk in a valley overgrown with Aloe and fynbos.

In the evening savour a candle lit Boma dinner where varied menu of tasty traditional South African cuisine can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere around an open blazing fire. Complete your dinning experience with a selection of fine South African wines and friendly attentive service.

Game drives are led by experienced game rangers who share their knowledge of the big game as well as the many Antelope species, bird life and local African folklore. Not to be missed is a tour to the Reptile Centre where you can view 26 different snakes types as well as crocodile and other reptiles. The Herpetologist will share their knowledge of snakes, crocodiles & other interesting cold - blooded creatures. A visit to the recently established cheetah breeding programme where a guided walk will fill you in on all the amazing facts of this endangered species. At 14h00 we will visit the cheetah breeding programme where a guided walk will let you up an close with these majestic animals. We leave on our first game drive at 17h00 on 4 x 4 safari vehicle. Dinner will be served at 7pm as you savour a candle lit Boma dinner where varied a menu of tasty traditional South African cuisine can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere around an open blazing fire. Complete your dinning experience with a selection of fine South African wines and friendly attentive service. After dinner relax around the bar in the Lapa or make use of the sauna, Jacuzzi or hot and cold swimming pools.

Day 2:

 

 

We start the day with a morning game drive at 7.30am and view the delights of the African bush, in an open 4 x 4 landdrover with knowledgeable and experienced game rangers and return at 9am for a big breakfast. From 10am - 10.30am you visit and take a tour of the Reptile Centre. After this adventure a light lunch will be served. After which will we will drive back to Cape Town via many scenic little towns like Bonnievale
